Dr. Adiebo, Kimo

Dr. Kimo obtained a B.Sc. Economics from the University of Juba, Sudan and an M.Sc. Economics from the University of Khartoum, also in Sudan. He also holds an M.Sc. Rural and Regional Resources Planning (Sustainable Development Stream) from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In addition, he holds a PhD in Petroleum Economics from the University of Juba. He has over 20 years’ experience in the field of economics and development and has consulted for among others UNDP, UNICEF and UN-OCHA. Dr. Bojosi, Kealeboga

Dr. Kealeboga holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Botswana and a Master of laws (Human Rights and Democratization in Africa) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He also obtained an LLM from the University of Cambridge and a Doctorate from the University of Oxford in England, where he specialized in intellectual property law, international banking and finance law, commercial insurance as well as international human rights law. While at Oxford, he served as the Supervising Editor of the well-respected Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal (OUCLJ). He is presently the head of Legal and Company Secretary at ABSA Bank Botswana Ltd. Languages: English.

Dr. Chintu, Namukale

Dr. Namukale obtained a BA in Development Economics from the University of Zambia, before going on to earn an Msc in Financial Economics from the Saïd Business School, Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. She also holds a Phd from Cambridge Judge Business School. She has in the past worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), at the Economics department of the University of Zambia and, at the London office of Morgan Stanley where she dealt with capital markets contributing towards the structuring of alternative debt instruments. She is currently a Senior Director at the EFG Private Bank. Languages: English

Dr. Dada, Ayokunle

Dr. Ayokunle earned a First Class B.Sc (Microbiology) degree from the University of Ado-Ekiti in Nigeria before going on to do an M.Sc in Water Science, Policy and Management at the Centre for the Environment (OUCE) of the University of Oxford, England. He also holds a doctorate degree in Microbiology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He has in the past conducted a study on the public health implications of massive contamination of drinking water sources in oil rich regions of Nigeria. He has in the past been engaged by the United Nations in Liberia to support the country's efforts to secure clean drinking water. He is interested in water science and management especially in rural and urban settings of developing nations and holds memberships in the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and the International Water Association (IWA). Dusabe, Elizabeth

Elizabeth graduated with honours from Makerere University in Uganda before going on to serve in the Attorney Generals Chambers at the Ministry of Justice of Rwanda. She is a topnotch legal practitioner who has gained extensive experience in the area of transitional justice. She has in the past been a fellow at the National University of Singapore where she obtained a dual Masters degree in Transitional Justice and Global Regulation under that university's joint degree programme with New York University. Dr. Kabumba, Busingye

Dr. Kabumba founded Development Law Associates and served as its first Partner before taking early retirement from the firm in 2020. Presently, he is a full time Lecturer of Law at Makerere University. He graduated with a First-class degree in law from Makerere University in Uganda. He also holds a Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Pretoria. a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from Oxford University in England and a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard University in the USA. He is interested in the areas of international economic law, Project Finance as well as Securities law and has conducted numerous studies on securities regulation in emerging markets. Prior to returning to Uganda, he worked in the Project Finance & Capital Markets departments of Clifford Chance LLP in London. Lyimo, Edward Samwel

Edward holds an LLB (Honours) from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. He is a qualified advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and all subordinate courts. He is an expert in the area of Banking and Finance in emerging markets and served for long as Legal Counsel and Head of Securities at Barclays Bank Tanzania Ltd (a subsidiary of Barclays Bank Plc) as well as with the Institute of Finance Management, also in Tanzania. He also specializes in Corporate Law, Real Estate and Intellectual Property. His most recent experience has been at the London Office of the leading international law firm Allen & Overy, where he worked in the areas of Leveraged Finance and Global loans (Banking department) as well as with the M&A and Antitrust/Competition Groups in the Corporate department. Mbi, Tanyi Joseph

Joseph obtained the Licence en Droit from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon and further holds the Certificat d'Aptitude à la Profession d'Avocat (CAPA) qualifying him to practice as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Cameroon. He has also benefited from high-level training from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in the areas of Capital Markets Development and Regulation, Arbitration, Negotiation of Financial Transactions and Mechanics of Loan Agreements. He has over 20 years of experience as a distinguished practitioner representing a variety of clients ranging from multinational corporations, banks and other financial institutions and he has cultivated expertise in the areas of Foreign Investment, Corporate Finance, Project Finance and all aspects of Cameroonian litigation practice and procedure. He has practiced law with the largest law firm in Cameroon which has been consistently ranked in the Top Tier of the Chambers and Partners Global Rankings. He also worked in the London office of the international law firm of Herbert Smith LLP offering advice on Project Finance with a focus on Africa-related deals.

Dr. Mkwambisi, David

Dr. Mkwambisi is an Associate Professor of Environment and Development at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Malawi. He earned a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Malawi, a Masters in Environment and Development from the University of East Anglia in England and obtained a PhD in the same area from the University of Leeds, also in England. He has over 17 years’ experience in the area of environmental conservation and has taught the subject at the University of Malawi. David has carried out pathbreaking research in his field culminating in the concept of the venn-prism. Languages: English.

Naphambo, George

George obtained an LLB (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and a Master of Laws (LLM) awarded jointly by the University of Western Cape (South Africa) and the American University (Washington, DC). He currently practices law in Blantyre, Malawi with the firm of Naphambo & Co and has in the past taught at the University of Pretoria. He is an expert on Trade Law and currently serves as a member of the Trade Law and Policy Working Group under which capacity, he has represented Malawi at various international trade fora including the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) trade negotiations and Economic Partnership Agreements between the Africa Carribean Pacific (ACP) countries and the European Union (EU). Ng'ambi, Patrick Sangwani

Dr. Sangwani graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from De Montford University and a Master of Laws Degree from Cornell University. Olawuyi, Damilola

Prof, Olawuji obtained an LLB (First Class Honours) from the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria and a BL (First Class Honours) from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, Nigeria. He also holds Master of Laws (LLM) degrees from the Universities of Calgary and Harvard Law School. In addition, he holds a Doctorate in energy and environmental law from the University of Oxford. He has practiced and taught law in Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East and North America, and he is widely published in the area of environmental law. Osei-Antwi, Thomas

Rumanyika, Desire

Desire obtained the licence en droit (Master's degree in law) from the National University of Rwanda before going on to earn an MBA (Banking and Finance) from the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. He also holds a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Liverpool in the UK. He is an expert on International Finance Law with a focus on Project Finance. He has also had the advantage of various high-level training in Investment Law and International Finance Law from such institutions as the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), the American Bar Association (ABA) and the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA). He has also taken part in key international conferences including the United Nations (UN) and the African Development Bank (ADB) General Assemblies. Setlhako, Chris

Shomwe, Tendayi

Tendayi obtained his LLB from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa and his LLM (International Trade and Investment Law) from the University of Western Cape, also in South Africa. He has also received high level training in Trade Negotiation from the World Trade Organization (WTO). He is interested in issues of Trade law, Foreign Investement, Intellectual Propoperty as well as Project Finance and has in the past been engaged with the Trade Law Centre for Southern Africa (TRALAC) as well as with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), Harare, Zimbabwe. He has since 2005 worked as an Investment Executive with the Zimbabwe Export Proicessing Zones Authority (EPZA), charged with regulating Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and formulating national compliance mechanisms in line with the SADC and COMESA protocols. Tendayi has also in the past undertaken specialist work in the Energy & Infrastructure and Global Project Finance departments of Linklaters LLP, a leading law firm in London. Yameogo, Gilles

Gilles holds the Maîtrise dès Sciences Juridiques (LLB equivalent) and the Diplome d'Etudes Supérieures Spécialisées (LLM equivalent) in Business Law from the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, a Postgraduate Diploma in Common Law Studies from the University of Moncton (Canada), a Master of Arts in International Development (Finance & Banking) from the American University in Washington DC as well as a Master of Laws (International Finance & Corporate Governance) from Harvard Law School, USA. He has over 25 years' experience as an attorney and has practiced law in France (Paris), Canada (Ottawa) and Burkina Faso. He is an expert on Investment Law, International Finance and International Trade Law. He has acted for various governments, international law firms such as Allen & Overy LLP as well as several intergovernmental bodies and international institutions, including the European Development Fund (EDF), the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). Gilles was part of an international team of lawyers that represented the government of Burkina Faso in landmark arbitrations before the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the International Court of Arbitration (of the International Chamber of Commerce).
